Full Moon Night

The Moon last night was reported to appear 14% larger than normal due to it’s closer proximity to the Earth. I have to admit, there was a great moonrise at 7pm as it came up behind Haleakala. Naturally, I was camera-less at that moment.

But this morning I shot several clean images of the moon using a 400mm lens. I like having moonimages on hand just in case I decide to spruce-up an otherwise “blah” photo. I made the image below with my little Canon Rebel XTi. I’ve printed it as a 5 foot long canvas, and it rocks!

Moral: Keep a full moon handy just in case.

Howzit Randy, cool and awesome site. How long did it take you to learn how to make your website and what language did you use?

  • This miserable process has taken me 8 months and $1500 worth of advice from my html teacher at the Maui Junior College. He is worth every penny and I am finally learning slowly.
I am using Dreamweaver with HTML, Java, etc.

Hey Darren, how is your photography coming along?
Will you be one of my first workshop attendees next summer?

Hey, I read the Honolulu Star Bulletin about a kayaker finding a whale entangled in rope. Are you that kayaker?

After reading your future plans of your expeditions or workshops, I began to look for ways of making my way there. If I happen to save enough money, I’ll sign up. It sounds exciting.
